Plagerism at its Best

We don't have any cute or interesting pictures (all our cute and interesting things left home years ago). So I'm resorting to borrowing from my kids. Below are some photos of trevor and Michelle's little ones.

Jane and Elizabeth - Together Again

To quote Shelly's blog:

"Jane and Elizabeth were moved out of their 'isolettes' and into a regular pediatric crib yesterday. This is where they put the healthiest NICU babies That is if none of the NICU babies have a contagious disease. And none of them do, so this is a good thing."

It looks like the feeding tubes are still in, but it probably won't be long before those are history. One thing common to both Hall's and Butchart's is a healthy attitude toward eating well. Those girls have a double dose of that.

State fair Fun

We actually went to the State Fair a month ago. For some reason they moved the dates of the fair to July from August when it usually is. It was pretty good, and of course the food was great.

The first photo is for the Industrial Arts exhibit, showing a big dragon kind of thing that some high school kid made. The hydraulics were very impressive. The one next to it is from the Arts and Crafts exhibit, and is a quilt made out of ties - with the added attraction of having the labels from each tie placed in a strip between each row.

I really liked this sculpture of the "sleeping baby head" with the moon and sky painted on it. Made me long for the good old days (minutes rather) of sleeping babies. And the roadster made from scrap junk was incredible. The info posted on it said that it is a street-legal vehicle that actually runs. I thought it actually looked nicer than most of he cars I've owned.

I had fun snapping photos of Melody in front of a couple of backdrops. You can surely see the resemblance in both photos. (hee, hee)

One of the best exhibits at the fair was this dino cave where they had animated dinosaurs. There were several dinosaurs making noise and moving around. I thought my grandchildren would really enjoy watching these, almost as much as I enjoy them. Very cool.

All in all, it was a pretty darn good day. I ate a jumbo corn dog, a deep fried Snickers bar, a plate of ribs (with all the trimmings), and ice cream cone, and various other delicacies. Washed it all down with several cups of lemonade. I love going to the fair.

Elizabeth Eating

One of the best parts of the trip to Idaho was getting to go with Trevor to see the twins in the NICU. He and Shelly go in to feel and hold them several times a day. Anyway I shot a little video of Elizabeth (Jane had already eaten and was asleep). It was very cute to see.

Okay, maybe I'll take a break from posting about the twins - for now.

Got this photo from a friend. I know people like to plan ahead (I am one such), but this is a bit much.

Jane and Elizabeth

These are the first photos I have of Michell's twin girls. I probably wont get to see them anytime soon because they'll be in the NICU (being, as they are, over a month premature) until after I have to return to YC. So this will have to suffice for now.

(If you can't tell the difference - well, there's a reason they call them "identical")

THEY'RE HERE !

Jane and Elizabeth Butchart were born this morning in Rexburg, ID. Jane: 4 lb 8 oz, 17", born at 8:51 am MST. Elizabeth: 4 lb 11 oz, 18", born at 8:56 am MST.

Actually, I'm not sure that their names will be Jane and Elizabeth, that's just what Trevor and Michelle were leaning toward last time I spoke with them - for now they're just Baby A and Baby B. Michelle said she asked them what their names were, but they just laid there and didn't say anything. I was told that Michelle went to the hospital after her water broke about 4:30 am, and the babies came very quickly afterward - almost no labor (thank goodness for that I suppose).

Though premature, they are both breathing on their own and appear to be healthy, with the proper number of limbs and digits. They made it through 33 weeks of development, and will be in the hospital for a little while yet.

Melody is on her way back there (from visiting with Chris and Lorna in Kaysville) and will be there by this evening.
