Biking to the Buttes

Several months ago my cool little Action Cam went kaput. I sent it back to the company and they sent me a new one. Today I got it out to do some filming. So here's some shots of our bike ride out to Sutter from our Hillcrest home. You'll see us coming up to and turning onto El Margarita, then out along the bike path (formerly the railroad spur from Tierra Buena to Sutter), and finally turning onto Humphrey Rd. We had loads of fun!

Oh, the camera is mounted to the top of my bike helmet.

Lest We Forget

Uncle Richie and I got up this morning and rode our bikes out to the cemetery (took about an hour) where we met up with Grandma by Grandpa's grave. She brought flowers and we placed several on Grandpa's grave, then spread some around to others. Below you can see Grandma and Rich standing around Grandpa's grave, the grave itself, then several graves with flags over by where the ceremony was going to be.

Hope you all have a good Decoration Day, with plenty of good memories and good food.

The Old Homestead

On our bike trip out to the cemetery, Rich and I swung past the home Melody and I owned in Sutter. Our kids will certainly recognize it - though it has obviously had some work done on it. The front gates are gone and the side driveway needs a lot of work, but it looks better in many ways than when we lived there. The swing set is gone, the sand box is gone, the little pool is gone, and the large garden in the back is gone. But this will always hold a unique place in our memories.

Weather or not . . .

There isn't much going on here that's worth reporting. All the action is up in Idaho with Trevor and Michelle. Mom is leaving Saturday to go help out. She will have a blast, and Michelle will be happy to have her there.

I have lots going on this time of year, as is usual, so that's nothing new. There weather was nice for a while - but now it's turned cold again. It never gets over 83 and I even have to wear a coat to work in the morning. For those who are thinking: "What's he talking about? The 80's is warm!" Just remember that usually we are swimming by the first of May with temps in the 90's. And the year we moved into this house we were swimming and eating popsicles on the first of April! Surely he colder temps are due to all this global warming I hear about.

Atticus Trevor Butchart

Here he is. (I figured Michelle won't get around to posting anything real soon) Born at 12:13 pm MDT. 7 lb. 11 oz. 20 in., and according to his Mom, 6 inch long toes! She said "no wonder it felt like he was wrapping his toes around my ribs!" Mother and child are doing great.

The Last of the AZ Trip Photos

Okay, here are the last photos we'll post from our trip to AZ. These are pretty good, but what I'll do for posts after this - well, I have no idea. We just don't seem to live that exciting of a life.

On the left is the track I laid out for Grant to play with, which he gladly did. On the right is a video of Lucy making the most of a car at the park. She really makes it go for a little girl.

Satruday, at the Park

(name that tune)

Here's a couple of videos from the park Rob & I took the kids to while Pam and Mom were busy with other things. Actually, they showed up later and we all had a good time. But these two short clips demonstrate the kind of time we had.

;;;;;;;;

You hear Rob confess to letting Lucy do as she pleases outside the presence of her mother - and me promising not to disclose the affair. I lied. They were just too good not to use.

We had the opportunity to spend the weekend in Arizona with Pam and Rob's family. The special occasion was Molly's blessing on Sunday. You can see the beautiful little lady in the dress her mother made for her. She was so happy and full of smiles, we had so much fun holding her!

We had a lot of fun with Lucy and Grant, too. They are both loving their new sister.
